Asitha had his education at the prestigious private schoold in Sri Lanka and has undertaken professional studies with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK.

Skills, Expertise and Experience

Asitha has sound background in Shipping & Logistics with over 18 years of experience. He commenced his carrier at CMA CGM Lanka Pvt Ltd in 1992 and has been with FRITZ transportation & a leading shipping Agency in Sri Lanka for over 11 years. During this period Asitha was the General Manager for MSC, Wanhai, Marfret & Delmas agencies in Colombo and was responsible for Sales/Marketing, Operations (local/transhipment), Logistics and administration. Some of the significant achievements during his career was the initiation of a Multimodal service to Central CIS via Iran and the commencement of a regional NVOCC operation covering the Indian sub continent and South East Asia.

With a balance of Shipping line and freight forwarding knowledge both in Sales & operations, he has had exposure to all aspects of the logistics industry including Ocean import & export, NVOCC, Bulk & tramp, ODC/OOG, Multimodal movements & consolidation.
