HTL Runners Up at CISCO 'Virtualisation' Golf Challenge 2010: 16th January |
|
HTL was once again represented by Director, Ilham Reyaz, at the CISCO 'Virtualisation' Golf Challenge 2010 at India's prestigious Eagleton Golf Club. After being presented with the Runners Up prize for 15 - 24 Handicap Group, he commented that he was very surprised at this victory as his round was very mixed up with too many poor bunker shots, but was very thankful to CISCO for an exceptionally planned event which will prove to be amongst the most memorable events he has been privileged to participate in, and providing the opportunity to meet with India's top Professional (and super-friendly) Golfer Anirban Lahiri, and India's insanely witty Stand-Up Comedian, Papa CJ.

HTL wins at Clover Golf Tournament |
|
HTL was represented by Ilham Reyaz, Director for HR, in Clover Green's inaugural Golf Stableford Tournament held this June '09 in India. Ilham overcame stiff competition of over 75 players, playing to just a Gross 5 strokes over the new Par 70 course. Playing with a moderate handicap of 15, he was forced to compete at a disadvantage from the back (Black) tees, where those with higher handicaps (the majority) were allowed to tee off from the front (White) tees. However, at the end of the day, he managed to force a three way tie over the higher handicappers with 46 stableford points, whilst easily capturing the No.1 spot being the lowest grossing player of the tournament!
HTL also participated in the Annual Joy of Giving Charity Golf Tournament later this October, represented by Reyaz Farook (Chairman) and Ilham Reyaz (Director). The heavy monsoon winds played havoc with the players' golf ball, making this one of the most difficult courses to manage and keep the ball in play during this season! Ilham however was able to use this to his advantage and bag the prize for longest drive with a whopping 359-yard Drive off the 12th tee! He then managed play a handsome 5-iron shot to within just 3 yards of the pin to set himself up for an easy Eagle putt, which would have been the highlight of the day had he not missed the tap-in putt! You can't blame the wind for that one... |
